Woot! Lucky you to get a Brisbane Holiday Dollars Voucher.
We do need you to get in touch with Helen to use this voucher. You can DM her on facebook or instagram, text or ring on 0407 394 372 or shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Once we work our magic in the back rooms you will be able to process your order with the discount applied.
Apologies for the two step process, the reward is a half price bike tour and we will turn around your query just as soon as we are able.
To ensure appropriate hygiene measures are in place during COVID, Brisbane City Cycling will be suspending the supply of reusable cups and bottles of water and will instead supply tour participants with single use bottles of water and coffee cups (with recycling measures taken).
Prior and following each tour, our cleaning plan includes wiping down all bikes with antibacterial wipes and cleansing all helmets with a disinfectant spray. These measures were all part of our ordinary mode of operations, but we want to be clear that we are taking them to ensure your continued good health.
We will be asking tour participants to respect social distancing measures and will carry hand sanitiser available for all participants throughout the tour.
Lastly, if you are unable to attend the tour due to your feeling unwell, we will offer you the opportunity to reschedule at a later date and/or discuss refunds outside of our normal Refund Policy.
Our tours will start and end at the city side entrance to the Howard Smith Wharves (5 Boundary Street). We will meet all together, individually test the seat height and do a short ride off the bike path to ensure all tour participants are confident in riding the bike.
The tour starts at 9am (8am from December to February) at the meeting point. If you are delayed for any reason please call your tour guide, Helen on 0407 394 372 to let her know.
Brisbane City Cycling tour is a leisurely ride, frequently stopping to take in the sites of the river. A standard level of fitness is recommended.
You will be supplied with a hygienically cleaned helmet for the duration of the ride. It is the law to wear a helmet at all times whilst riding a bike in Australia and therefore is a condition of participating in the tour.
Brisbane City Cycling tours are run for ages eighteen and above. Tours with children may be arranged by contacting Helen directly.
Not only will we take you to the best spots for photos of Brisbane CBD, we will even take the photos for you! Rather than attempt the ever-difficult one-handed selfie, allow us to take of all your Insta-worthy action and posed shots along the way.
We know that sometimes plans change. We ask that you give us as much warning as you can in cancelling the tour, which is reflected in our refunds policy. If you need to cancel as you feel unwell, we will work with you on a refund/reschedule.
Please see our refunds/cancellation policy in our Terms and Conditions
What a lovely thought! Yes, you can purchase a tour as a gift. Book in a tour for your preferred date and in the field complete the intended participant name. The recipient of your gift will need to sign their own waiver. Alternatively you can also purchase a gift voucher for any amount.
Tours are kept to a maximum of five participants.
Whilst both are great eco-friendly modes of transport, these tours are exclusively for bike riding.
Yes, with prior approval from Helen and providing you are willing to take on the terms and conditions associated with providing your own bike, you may bring your own. Please note that this does not change the cost of the tour.
Please wear clothing that enables free and easy movement and enclosed footwear. Our bikes are step through ladies’ style, which will allow for skirts and dresses should you wish to wear them. We will provide bike helmets, hygienically cleaned.
You should also wear SPF50 sunscreen. The Queensland sun is harsh, and we want to ensure you are protected whilst outside. Your guide will carry extra sunscreen for top ups throughout the tour.
You should bring your camera, small change, sunscreen. The bikes are equipped with a basket and luggage rack for your use.
Yes, this tour will not teach participants how to ride a bike. That said, you can be reasonably confident that if you have ridden a bike in the last couple of years, you will be fine on the tour. A reasonable level of fitness is required, noting that 14km over three hours (with frequent stopping!) is the perfect distance for those returning to bike riding.
Your guide will provide sufficient picnic rugs for the market to ensure you are comfortable while sitting on the ground.
We will ensure any requested tea/coffee drink, in a large size is provided as part of the tour. Feel free to order your drink of choice, or, try out a “flat white”, Australia’s contribution to coffee culture.
All tour participants are required to agree the terms and conditions of the tour to be able to participate. We will send you an electronic copy of the terms and conditions you agree for your records.
Any issued severe weather alerts by Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology will lead to cancellation of the tour and the option to either reschedule or receive a full refund of your money (minus booking fee). Where rain is forecast, a decision on whether or not to proceed will be made in consultation with each tour member. We will do our best to work with you and your preferences with as much advanced warning as we can feasible give.
Of course! You will have about half an hour free time at the markets. As mentioned, the bikes have some carrying capacity. The markets do continue into the very early afternoon (usually wrapping up around 2pm) so if you wanted to hightail it back after the tour, of course you could do that.
